KARIDERM Ingredients

Following Canadian legislation, all the ingredients used in our products are now being listed with their chemical names issued by the International Nomenclature of Cosmetic Ingredients. These names are related in general to the botanical names in Latin of the vegetal that they are extracted from or to the molecular structure of the ingredients. For example, shea butter would be mentioned as Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea Butter), Butyrospermum meaning ‘seed of butter’, and Parkii being a reference to the Scottish explorer Mungo Park who was the first scientist to describe the shea tree and seed, in the 18th century.

This designation is perhaps more precise , but does not facilitate the comprehension for our clients. We therefore elaborated a Glossary of the ingredients that you will find on our labels.

But to start with, we would like to clarify the definitions and usage of certain ingredients used in cosmetics in order to eliminate false ideas that run on the matter. We suggest in this section to discover the different categories of ingredients and their role.
